If you take the time to build a top-notch team, your chances of winning games and tournaments are much greater.

Keep in mind that in many tournaments, the teams are formed right before the game starts. This does not allow you the opportunity to hand pick your team members. This makes it necessary to have the ability to work together with complete strangers, and to assess strengths and weaknesses in those strangers quickly.

When you are forming a regular team, you should first determine what type of paintball games you would be participating in. In theme-based games, you will need a person to fill each of the available roles, such as sniper, medic, transport, demolition, etc. You will need to choose the best person for the job. You do this by assessing each team member’s abilities. You can assess abilities by asking questions and running the members through an obstacle course. You will know who thinks clearly under pressure, which has the best aim, which can run the fastest, and things such as this. Keep notes on each member’s weaknesses and abilities.

If a team member is unhappy with their assignment, you may need to re-assign the member to another role that they may be suited for. If the member only wants to be a shooter, they may not understand the importance of support roles, and may not be cut out for team play. It is important that each team have a leader. It may also be necessary to have two or three leaders, depending on the size of your team. Just remember the problems that exist when there are too many Chiefs, and not enough Indians.

You should work out signals with your team, as well as team tactics and strategy ahead of time, and practice often! It is beneficial to make sure each member of your team has a radio headset for communication.

A team that works well together and practices often can make it to the pro paintball games!

About The Author

Tim Bach
Paintball gun tips
article@10k.net

The Sport Of Airsoft vs. The Sport Of Paintball Part I

by: PJ Ace

As the Sport of Airsoft grows in popularity today, many enthusiasts of both the Sport of Airsoft and the Sport of Paintball have debated over the differences and similarities, in the comparisons of both sports. Questions eventually come to the following: Which sport is better? What sport is more cost effective? What is the difference between Airsoft guns and Paintball guns? Finally, which sport is geared toward a larger demographic of people? I will briefly examine both sides of the Airsoft and Paintball argument and hopefully come to an opinion on which sport is emerging and which sport is fading out.

The initial argument between the Sport of Airsoft and the Sport of Paintball has been the cost differences between each sport. However, if you take a closer look at the costs for each sport you will find that both sports have an initial investment. For both sports, if you want to get completely decked out in every form of equipment available you are looking to spend up into the hundreds of dollars and sometimes into the thousands. There are variations in the pricing, but let’s say you use tons of ammo in Airsoft and not so much (which I think is unlikely) in Paintball then you will spend more on ammo for Airsoft (again this is very unlikely). This money can be spent over a period of time if you are not seriously trying to compete in the sports.

Most people continue to talk about the costs and how one sport is cheaper than the other but it depends on what you want and what you are looking for in each sport that will actually determine what you will spend. This includes everything from the gun, equipment and ammo, to the upgrades. In other words, either sport can be relatively cheap or relatively expensive, it all depends on you.

So if the money is not so important (well it’s important to most, and trust me I am all about getting the best for my money) what are the differences between the sports that one can draw a clear contrast about? What makes one sport different from the other? One of the major differences are the guns for each sport.

All Paintball guns, also known as “Markers,” have a similar style and look, only varying in specifications rather than in styles. There’s not much more to the variations except the quality and effectiveness of the Paintball guns. There is hardly any diversity or character when it comes to each gun simply because they are made to specifications.

Airsoft guns have 1:1 scale replicas. This means they actually look like the real thing, so much so that all the guns come with a federally mandated orange tip. It is interesting to note that these guns also come with metal components making even the weight of the replica guns very similar to the actual gun. Plus, you can find many of the guns that you would have some interest in using, like an M16, Sniper Rifle, or an AK47. Some would say this is scary, but others (including the Airsoft enthusiast) would consider this a great way to own an arsenal that is not lethal, nor illegal for that matter.

I know the reader might be saying that as far as cost’s are concerned, “one cannot draw a conclusion on which sport out does the other,” but as we have looked into the matter deeper we have found that realistic attributes can make a big difference in what you would want to participate in. In fact it makes all the difference for me!

In this part one of The Sport of Airsoft vs. The Sport of Paintball we have concluded that that money or cost has no bearing on whether the Sport of Airsoft is better than the Sport of Paintball.

About The Author
PJ Ace is a writer and administrator for http://FlyntAirsoftPaintball.com, a site that specializes in airsoft and paintball.

New Tippmann Paintball Gun: X-7

The New X-7

The newest in Tippmann Paintball Guns is out! Tippmann also manufactures pneumatic sewing machines and some industrial products under the name of Tippmann Pneumatics. Originally a family owned business run from Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 2004 Dennis Tippmann sold a majority ownership stake to Summit Partners, a private equity firm."

History

"In the 1980s Tippmann was known as Tippmann Arms Company. As such, they produced scaled down .22 cal replicas of military machine guns.

In 1986 gun laws changed, and the owner of Tippmann Arms Company, Dennis Tippmann Sr., was looking for new business. Dennis noticed the growing popularity of paintball and started to develop paintball markers with his knowledge from developing machine guns."

Early Tippmann Paintball Guns

"The first Tippmann paintball marker on the market was the SMG60. The SMG60 fired .62 cal as a full automatic. The SMG60 used a side feed system using a stripper clip and a screw on constant air (CA) tank now known as a threaded CO2 tank.

As paintball calibers became standardized, Tippmann developed the SMG68 which used .68 cal paintballs and only produced a few of them. The SMG68 is now worth more than $800 USD.

The next Tippmann marker was the Tippmann 68-Special, which was semi-automatic and used a hopper, then called the Ammo Box, that could contain up to 40 paintballs. Tippmann also released a product which converted the SMG68 into the 68-Special.

Tippmann went on to produce other notable paintguns, such as the semi-auto Pro-Am which used a solid machined aluminum receiver proceeded by the well known Pro-Lite (widely used as a rental gun because of its durability), and the SL68, a pump marker that was based on the Nelson Nel-Spot action. Tippmann also released the Factory F/A, which used the first force-feed system and a fire rate limiter to shoot semi and full automatic, and the Model 98 which used a cast aluminum design to retain quality but lower prices."
